Student Mobility (KA171)

1. Who Can Apply?

Students enrolled at the Partner institutions of Marmara University can apply for an Erasmus+ KA171 student Mobility for study/traineeship.  

Student mobility can last from 2 to 12 months (minimum 60 days). The exact duration is determined according to the project agreement between the sending and receiving institutions.

Each mobility must be completed within the valid project period, which is typically 36 months (3 years) for a KA171 project.

 

2. Application Process

Participants wishing to join an Erasmus+ KA171 mobility at Marmara University must follow these steps:

1. Official Nomination

• Your home university must officially nominate you to Marmara University by e-mail (international@marmara.edu.tr).

2. Document Submission

• Submit all required documents after nomination and prior to arrival (international@marmara.edu.tr):

♦ Application Form

♦ Learning Agreement

♦ Copy of Passport

♦ Flight tickets

♦ Proof of permanent address (original and scanned copy)

♦ EURO bank account details (if international transfer is possible)

3. Approval and Confirmation

• The Office for International Relations and Academic Cooperation at Marmara University will review your documents and confirm your participation.

4. Pre-Departure Preparation

• Ensure travel arrangements and accommodation are finalized.

• Familiarize yourself with the mobility guidelines and grant conditions.

 

3. Grant

Students may be awarded an Erasmus+ KA171 grant to help cover their living expenses during their mobility period. Grant payment is subject to the amount of applications received and availability of funds from the Turkish National Agency. Please note that Erasmus grants are only contribution, meaning may not suffice for all your expenses and students are responsible for their own travelling costs and living expenses during the exchange.

In addition to the Erasmus+ KA171 individual grant, selected students for Erasmus+ KA171 grant receive travel support based on the distance between home university and the host university.

A one-time travel grant is provided based on the distance between the home and host institutions, calculated using the Erasmus+ Distance Calculator.

The total Erasmus+ grant is generally paid in two installments:

  • 80%: Paid before or at the beginning of the mobility period.

20%: Paid after the completion of the mobility, upon submission of all required documents (e.g., Transcript of Records, Certificate of Attendance, final report).
