Staff Mobility (KA171)

1. Who Can Apply?

Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility programme enables to exchange faculty members/staff between KA171 Partner University and Marmara University for teaching/training mobility activities.

 

Teaching mobility – STA

The objective of the mobility is to encourage higher education institutions to broaden and enrich the range and content of courses they offer.

Training Mobility – STT

It is a mobility opportunity that allows university staff (academic or administrative) to go abroad for professional development and training at a partner institution.

 

Who Can Participate?

• Full-time academic staff/administrative staff employed at the partner university of Marmara University can apply for staff mobility.

• Applicants are expected to have knowledge of sufficient foreign language to carry out the activity.

 

2. Application Process

In accordance with Erasmus+ regulations, each institution is responsible for selecting its own participants. Within this framework, partner institutions are required to complete the following steps:

1. Call for Applications

• The partner institution must publish an official call for applications for Teaching/Training Mobilities under Erasmus+ KA171.

2. Selection Process

• After the application period has ended, an official document confirming the selected participant(s) must be issued.

• The selection decision must be approved by a committee composed of at least three members formally appointed by the University Management.

 

Important Note for Partner Universities: Please contact our office (international@marmara.edu.tr) to check whether any funding is available for your university before opening an application call for Erasmus+ KA171.

 

3. Required Documents

Participants are required to submit the following documents to Marmara University after the official nomination by their home universities and prior to their arrival:

• Application Form

• Staff Mobility Agreement for Teaching/Training

• Copy of Passport

• Flight Tickets

• Official document confirming the permanent address of the grant holder, issued by the relevant legal authorities in the home country no later than one month before the start of the mobility period.

♦ Please send a scanned copy via email (international@marmara.edu.tr) in advance.

♦ The original document must be presented upon arrival in Türkiye.

• EURO bank account details (provided that international money transfers are possible).

 

4. Grant

In accordance with Erasmus+ regulations:

• The minimum duration of a staff mobility visit is five working days (Monday–Friday).

• If the participant arrives one day before the official start date and departs one day after the end date, funding may be provided for up to seven days in total.

1. Individual Support for Participants

Every participant will receive a mobility grant composed of subsistence support according to the length of stay (in days). 

• Incoming staff: EUR 140/day (for the mobilities within the 2022 and 2023)

• Incoming staff: EUR 148/day (for the mobilities within the 2024 and 2025 projects)

2. Travel Support for Participants

Each selected participant will receive a travel contribution in accordance with Erasmus+ rules.

The travel grant will be paid together with the individual (daily) grant upon arrival at Marmara University.

The amount of the travel contribution is determined based on the distance between Istanbul and the partner institution. Partner institutions may find their corresponding travel band and applicable amount in the table below.

Participants are advised to use the official Erasmus+ Distance Calculator to calculate the distance between their home university and Marmara University. The calculated distance will determine the applicable travel grant amount.

The amounts indicated in this table are applicable to activities organized under the 2024 and 2025 project periods.

Due to internal administrative procedures at our University, the grant payment will be processed at the end of the mobility period (typically on Thursday or Friday of the visit week).
